FREIGHT ACCESS TO VACCINES

Wednesday, September 1, 2021

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) wish to advise that the Victorian Department of Transport has issued the following notice concerning Freight Access to Vaccinations.

The important work that the freight and logistics sector has been doing in supporting Victorians at a challenging time is greatly appreciated.

It is recognised that those freight workers operating under a specified worker permit and who have been in an extreme or red zone in the last 14 days prior to entering Victoria have had difficulty in accessing appropriate vaccination sites.

Everyone in Victoria can?get a free COVID-19 vaccination.

Designated vaccination sites have been established for workers operating under a specified worker permit who have been in an extreme or red zone in the previous 14 days prior to entering Victoria.

The list of sites and a .letter_of_eligibility are available in the preceding links including a phone line that will prioritise workers meeting the eligibility criteria

Please ensure you satisfy the relevant criteria to attend these sites.

Other workers not meeting the eligibility criteria for these specific sites, can book an appointment at any Victorian state vaccination centre, GP clinic, community pharmacy or Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Organisation.

COVID-19 vaccines are free and safe. The more people who choose to get vaccinated, the greater the protection for those vaccinated and the whole community.

The best person to talk to if you have concerns about your health, and being vaccinated against COVID-19, is your doctor or regular health professional.

We encourage all ports, freight and logistic providers to lead the way in getting vaccinated to continue to the critical work they do and to protect the whole community.
