Restrictions for Impacted Areas (No. 14) (SEQ eased restrictions Stage 2) Direction

What's changed from 4pm AEST 20 August 2021

The Cairns and Yarrabah Local Government Areas will ease to stage 3 restrictions to join the rest of Queensland. The recently affected 11 Local Government Areas in South East Queensland will ease to stage 2 restrictions until 4pm Friday 27 August 2021.

Some restrictions will continue to apply for the South East Queensland Local Government Areas, including:

  • Mask wearing will continue at all times (including workplaces) unless you can stay 1.5 away from others. You may remove your mask when eating or drinking, or exercising with your household or one other person.
  • 30 people in your home, including people who live there
  • Up to 100 people at a wedding ceremony or funeral service
  • Businesses and venues with one person per four square metres indoors, one person per two square metres outdoors, or 75 percent capacity with seated, ticket allocations
  • Community sports and activities can recommence in full including training, competition and school sport, and spectators in line with stadiums and indoor and outdoor event requirements
  • Visitors allowed to hospitals, aged care and disability accommodation
  • Stadiums will be allowed 75 per cent capacity with ticketed and allocated seating

Overview

As of 4pm AEST Friday 20 August, until 4pm AEST Friday 27 August, 11 Local Government Areas in South East Queensland will be subject to continued restrictions. These Local Government Areas are declared impacted areas and include the following Local Government Areas:

  • City of Brisbane
  • Moreton Bay Regional Council
  • City of Gold Coast
  • City of Ipswich
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council
  • Logan City
  • Noosa Shire Council
  • Redland City
  • Scenic Rim Regional Council
  • Somerset Regional Council
  • Sunshine Coast Regional Council
