Who does this notice affect?

Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, and principal agents— associated with importing goods that require increased intervention during the 2021-22 BMSB risk season.

What has changed?

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources is delivering three industry information sessions covering the 2021-22 BMSB seasonal measures.  These measures will apply to certain goods shipped to Australia as sea cargo between 1 September 2021 and 30 April 2022 inclusive.

The sessions will provide information on the 2021-22 BMSB seasonal measures for goods being imported, shipped, or treated during the BMSB risk season. The sessions will also provide industry with the opportunity to ask questions about the proposed measures.
