CTAA Melbourne "Container Matters" Peak Season Seminar - 25 August 2021

CTAA is hosting an important Seminar on the challenges facing the container logistics sector in Melbourne as we move into the traditional "Peak Season" in 2021.

Container trade is still surging, with continuing strong import demand and seasonal export demand likely to continue through Christmas and into early 2022.  This demand strains shipping services and our landside logistics interfaces - stevedore terminals, empty container depots, fumigation orders, warehousing and FAK facilities, and our customer import & export delivery needs.

When:  9.15am to 3.30pm, Wednesday, 25 August 2021**

Where:  Yarraville Club, 135 Stephen Street, Yarraville
(free parking onsite)

** Subject to Victorian COVID Restrictions easing sufficiently from Thursday, 19 August as currently indicated by the Government.

Why Attend?

Join industry colleagues from across the container logistics chain, as well as government representatives, to discuss the regulatory, strategic and operational issues impacting on your business and the whole chain this Peak Season:

  • Port of Melbourne Trade Outlook - what challenges are we facing in the lead up to Christmas 2021 and beyond?
  • Victorian Government and Port of Melbourne strategic policy and investment updates - how will these shape the container logistics chain now and in the near future?
  • Stevedore operations and landside interfaces - working together to manage the volumes.
  • Empty container management challenges - congestion is on the rise - how can we avoid delays, frustrations and additional costs during peak season?
  • Higher Productivity Freight Vehicles - access developments / regulatory developments / technology developments.
