CTAA - Victorian Border Crossing Permit Directions

Monday, July 19, 2021

In response to the latest COVID-19 incursions from New South Wales, the Victorian Government has introduced additional measures to the Victorian Border Crossing Permit Directions (No. 22), effective 11.59pm 16 July 2021.

While only a relatively small volume of containerised freight crosses interstate borders, any freight worker crossing the border into Victoria must hold a Specified Worker (Low Workplace Interaction) Permit and must get tested for COVID-19 once every 3 days during each permit validity period.

Permit holders from red zones must carry a letter from their employer stating that they are performing work in Victoria that is urgent, essential to the operations of their employer or customer and cannot be carried out in a timely manner by workers who ordinarily reside in Victoria or another area that is a green zone.
