| Link WA - Industrial Land Use Planning Survey
Link WA consists of the Cities of Belmont, Canning, Kalamunda and Swan near Perth and the Port of Fremantle who are working together to retain and encourage sustained economic growth and development of an expanding freight and logistics corridor within the region.
The four Local Councils are taking a leadership role in supporting & promoting the freight and logistics industry as a key driver of economic growth and employment.
The Councils have been working together through Link WA to agree on the implementation of a standardised industrial land use planning framework.
One outstanding area of interest is car parking requirements for the 'Industry – Light' / 'Industry -General' and 'Warehouse' Land Uses (both uses traditionally associated with freight and logistics businesses).
Link WA has asked CTAA to assist in seeking feedback from freight logistics companies in WA about car parking requirements for new land developments to assist the Link WA planning teams to develop a unified approach by all member councils.
There is a link below to complete a short Survey on the topic. As the questions are specific and technically orientated, it would be useful if you could pass the Survey over to someone in your organisation, or to any of your facility development partners, who would be best suited to respond.
Even if you aren't currently considering any land / facility developments, if you have views, or can recommend the Survey to someone who does, we'd encourage a response.
It's refreshing that these Local Councils are seeking industry input to policy development, so let's see if your organisation can assist in boosting the Survey response rate in turn.
