ABF Brisbane Service Counter

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received notification from Australian Border Force (ABF) re commencement of a trial for appointment based counter services at ABF House, Brisbane Airport on Monday 17 May 2021. The trial is expected to continue until November 2021. 

The (ABF) is reducing their Client Service Counter opening hours at ABF House 20 -22 The Circuit, Skygate, Brisbane Airport.
 
During this trial, the counter will be available for interactions without an appointment from:
 
10:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday only (excluding public holidays).
 
For appointments outside these hours (08:30am to 10:00am and 2:00pm to 4:30pm Monday to Friday – excluding public holidays) , please call 07 3136 7578 and leave your contact details and the reason for your call.  Please note that all general inquiries should continue to be made to our National info line on 131 881.
 
Please note that 07 3136 7578 is not a general enquiry number, it is for making appointments only for the collection or lodgement of documentary (paper) applications outside of our Client Service Counter open hours and during building open hours. Examples of documents are:
  • Carnets
  • Manual Import and Export Declarations
  • CITES Permits
  • Dept. of Health Permits
  • Unaccompanied Personal Effects (UPE) (see further below) 
NB Customs Broker/Industry boxes #180 and #181 remain as drop boxes during building open hours (08:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday- excluding public holidays) for the lodgement of all documents.
 
Alternatively there are a limited number of "Customs Broker" collection boxes (a "PO Box" style collection box) available on request to external clients e.g. licenced customs brokers, freight forwarders etc. who regularly lodge documents such as carnets, Health permits, CITES permits, Redline documents. 
 
The function of a Customs Broker box allows for the collection of commercial documents during ABF House building open hours (Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm). Approved applicants are allocated a Customs Broker box for your sole use. You will be temporarily issued with a key to the Customs Broker box allocated to you. You must make sufficient copies of this key for your use, then you must return this key to the ABF. If you wish to apply for a Customs Broker box, please email us at mandexqld@abf.gov.au
 
If you are referring private clients to visit ABF House Brisbane to clear their importation consignment, including those which are cargo reported in ICS as Unaccompanied Personal Effects (UPE) e.g. personal effects, unaccompanied personal effects, household goods and similar, please advise them of our new open hours.
To further assist clients in clearing UPE we have attached an information sheet regarding ABF clearance options for UPEs and the ABF clearance options for goods which are not UPE. This advice can be given to clients.
