CEO WELCOME
________________

Welcome to the December issue of the Port of Brisbane News.

The end of 2020 is fast approaching and while COVID-19 has dominated our workplaces and personal lives, we have also celebrated many achievements and milestones.

This month, I've also had the opportunity to travel to south west Queensland to engage with our industry partners and support the local community.

We've also been busy here at the Port. Late last month, we welcomed a small group of customers and stakeholders to a 'behind the scenes' tour of the new Brisbane International Cruise Terminal followed by a Business Update.

And our people have also been busy rolling up their sleeves with our community partners, completing over 250 hours of volunteer work during November and December.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy festive season.

STRENGTHENING REGIONAL TIES
________________

Every year our leadership and trade teams meet with supply chain stakeholders, customers and community partners in Toowoomba and South West Queensland. It's an opportunity to discuss issues of importance to them and understand how we can best support their businesses and communities.

Our team toured Russell Mineral Equipment's facility in Toowoomba, before heading west to Goondiwindi to support the annual Bush to Port Race Day and Community Fireworks.  Through Drought Angels, we also visited local farmers doing it tough with food hampers.

Overall, while 2020 has been immensely challenging what continues to come through strongly every year is that our stakeholders and the communities they support are innovative and resilient. Thank you for your hospitality!

IN THE COMMUNITY
________________

During November and December, our people have completed over 250 hours of volunteer work for our community partners.

Most recently, employees from our Finance, Technology, People & Performance and Development, Assets & Sustainability Teams lent a hand to The Smith Family, helping with its annual
Toy and Book Appeal. Find out more about our volunteering efforts here.

We're also working the BBQ here at the Port – sizzling sausages and raising money for our 2020/21 Employee Charity, Friends with Dignity. Our sausage sizzles are held every fortnight – keep an eye on our Facebook page for the next one!
