Containerchain response communications

Sunday, October 18, 2020

The Containerchain team has worked continuously since detecting the cyberattack just before Friday midnight AEDT and the system has been successfully restored with all applications secured and online. Due to the very low transaction volumes at the time of the attack, minimal, if any data loss is likely to be experienced for AU, NZ, SG and MY customers. We will have a further update before Monday morning EU/US time for customers in those regions.

Access to the restored system

For customers to access the system, users will be required to change their password on initial login.

Depot System (CDMS) and Integrated TMS (Maximus) users
1. When logging in with your existing username and password, the system will automatically prompt you to enter a new password.
2. You will be required to enter your existing password, and then enter your new password.
3. Once you have completed this process you will be asked to log in using your new password.

Containerchain LIVE (Notifications, TRIP-TMS, Driver / eCTS, LIVE & LINER Access & CDMS 2.0) users
1. When logging in for the first time, you must click the 'forgot password' link.
2. You will receive an email containing a link to reset your password.
3. You will be required to click the link and enter your new password.
4. Once you have completed this process you need to log in using your new password.

Please note: If you do not have a valid email address associated with your Containerchain LIVE account, please contact your organisation's Admin User to request a password reset.

Password recommendations
• When choosing a new password, ensure that it is unique and strong, and includes a combination of numbers, symbols, and uppercase and lowercase letters.
• Make your password long (at least 12 characters is recommended) and avoid using common words, personal or pet names, personal information or strings of numbers like 0000 or 1234.
• As always, it is imperative that you do not reuse passwords used on other systems or share passwords with others, and that you change your password regularly.
• Our passwords are stored "hashed and salted" making large scale recovery by a cyber attacker very difficult. However, as always, it is highly recommended, that if the password you used on our system was the same you use elsewhere, you promptly reset other systems to use a different password.
