Qantas Freight (Melbourne Airport) - staged return of staff

Monday, August 10, 2020

Please refer to the latest information posted by Qantas Freight:

Our Melbourne freight terminals remain closed in response to advice from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

The international terminal has been cleared by DHHS and we can now start to plan a staged introduction of staff into the facility, with a small team returning today to clear freight already in the terminal, prioritising medical and other urgent imports. International IFAM charter flights and other international carriers normally handled by Qantas Freight will continue to have all cargo cleared at the Menzies facilities.

Domestically, urgent medical shipments may be able to be sent into Melbourne and we have notified the companies this applies to.

We continue to work closely with authorities to ensure we can resume operations as soon as possible and will keep this page updated with the latest information.

Thanks for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience.

We recommend that members keep an eye on the Qantas Freight website for further updates.
