| e-Consignment Security Declaration Presentation In order to comply with regulations and strengthen supply chain security, IATA has engaged with industry and regulators globally to develop an electronic standard consignment (cargo and mail) security declaration (e-CSD) that provides regulators with an audit trail of security information of a typical supply chain movement. This highlights where and when the consignment was cleared for security purposes, and ensures that security measures have been applied through a harmonized mechanism and a standard template. The e-CSD is designed to replace the equivalent paper documents and has received international general airline acceptance through the IATA Cargo Services Conference (CSC) as part of Recommended Practice 1630 'Cargo Security'. It has also received the support of the Australian Office of Transport Security (OTS). ICAO has recently included into the ICAO Aviation Security Manual a security declaration layout and completion instructions based on the standard developed by IATA, allowing it to be in an electronic format. This provides the aviation industry with a common Consignment Security Declaration tool that can be used to further strengthen the security of the air cargo supply chain. Thus, IATA is pleased to invite key industry stakeholders to participate in an e-CSD Awareness Forum to be held at the AFIF offices in Sydney. This forum will: - address how to comply with cargo security regulations with consistency - discuss how to enable replacement of paper cargo security declarations by electronic means - provide recommendations on the business process, best practices, and standard cargo EDI messages Please find details below for the e-CSD Awareness Forum: Speakers: Linda Ristagno and Stephane Parrenin (from IATA) Venue: Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF), Suite 403, Level 3, Office Tower, 152 Bunnerong Road, Eastgardens, NSW, 2036 Date: Wed 16 April 2014 Time: 09:00 – 12:00 RSVP: Parrenin Stephane (parrenins@iata.org) Thank you and regards Brian Lovell Chief Executive Officer Australian Federation of International Forwarders Ltd (AFIF) Suite 403, Level 3 152 Bunnerong Road Eastgardens NSW 2036 Tel: 02 9314 3055 Fax: 02 9314 3116 |
