WTO - DDG Wolff: COVID-19 crisis calls for “unprecedented level” of international cooperation

In a speech delivered to a virtual meeting of the Washington International Trade Association on 26 March, Deputy Director-General Alan Wolff said the COVID-19 pandemic calls for an "unprecedented level" of international cooperation to tackle the crisis. He outlined six priorities the WTO has for meeting the challenge, including providing a cooperative framework for members to consider their responses, making it clear members have wide freedom to take necessary positive actions to address the crisis, and helping craft coordinated responses to keep trade flows open.
