No cheques from 1 March

Inland Revenue and ACC will no longer accept payments by cheque.

Continuation of the controls on the import of high-power laser pointers

Importers are advised that the existing controls on the importation of high-power laser pointers are being continued in the Customs Import Prohibition (High-power Laser Pointers) Order 2019. This new CIPO comes into effect 1 March 2020.

Detailed information about the controls, and how to apply to import can be found on the Ministry of Health website.

Any queries on these requirements should be directed to laserpointers@health.govt.nz

Intellectual Property Rights

Every week we update a detailed list of trademark and copyright notices accepted by Customs on our website.

NZTA: ESC Requirements for all imported vehicles seeking NZ registration from 1 March 2020

The New Zealand Transport Agency advises that under the Land Transport Rules, all imported motor vehicles of specified classes must be fitted with an electronic stability control (ESC) system from 1 March 2020. Certain exemptions apply. Further details can be found here.

Note this is not an importation requirement, but a requirement for NZ registration of the vehicle.

Any queries on these requirements should be directed to the NZTA using their website.
