As members will be aware, the International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) have been revised with the new Incoterms® 2020 due to come into effect on 1 January 2020.

  • CFR Cost and Freight 
  • CIF Cost Insurance and Freight 
Being a self-paced course, we estimate that most trade professionals would complete the training in 1.5 to 3 hours depending how much time you elect to spend on each module examining available resources and completing optional assessments. 

Who wrote this course?

The author of the Understanding Incoterms 2020 course is Roberto Bergami who you will meet via a series of videos available throughout the course.
Robert is a former senior lecturer in International Trade at Victoria University, Melbourne and currently Assistant Professor at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic. He has a PhD, a Master of Education and a Master of Business by Research. 

Roberto was also appointed as a member of the ICC Australia Incoterms® 2020 Committee and hence played a part in the development of the changes to the rules.
Roberto has also spent over 30 years teaching with universities, VET/TAFE and private providers in Australia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Czech Republic, Italy and Germany.

His research interests include methods of payment in International Trade, market access, Customs and permit agencies as well as a special interest in terms of delivery. The latter terms are defined through the International Chamber of Commerce Incoterms® Rules.
