2019 / 20 - Seasonal measures for Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB)

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has finalised the seasonal measures for the 2019-20 BMSB risk season.

 

The seasonal measures will apply to certain goods that are manufactured in or shipped from, target risk countries arriving as sea cargo. In addition, the measures will also apply to vessels that berth at, load or tranship in target risk countries. These measures will apply to goods and vessels that voyage between 1 September 2019 and 31 May 2020 (inclusive).

INFORMATION SESSIONS

In preparation for the 2019-20 BMSB season, the department will also host a further series of industry information sessions across Australia in early June 2019, including a webinar for those unable to attend a session in person.

 

The sessions will provide further information on the final 2019-20 BMSB seasonal measures, for stakeholders including vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers and principle agents associated with importing goods that require increased intervention during the 2019-20 BMSB risk season.
