Senate Hearing on Shipping Regulation & Port Charges

CTAA joined the Aust. Peak Shippers Association (APSA) and Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) on Wednesday, 13 March to present evidence to the Federal Senate Committee on Rural, Regional Affairs and Transport on regulatory issues facing shipping and the container logistics sector.

Great opportunity to explain to the Committee the real impact of unregulated stevedore infrastructure charges, and continuing high Terminal Handling Charges (THCs) levied by shipping lines.

Thanks to Senators Glenn Sterle (WA), Alex Gallagher (SA) and Barry O'Sullivan (WA) for giving me and Travis Brooks-Garrett a fair hearing!
