Sulfuryl Flouride Detection and Monitoring approval
It is with great pleasure that we can advise that Price & Speed is now approved by DAWR to execute Sulfuryl Flouride detection and monitoring. P&S are now able to provide the necessary certification that can be lodged to facilitate further DAWR inspection and clearance. However we do need to point out that those boxes that require this service are usually under a Seals Intact direction which means that a DAWR officer must be present to open seals for certification.
BMSB Fumigation and Depot Services
We are happy to state that all BMSB fumigation are receiving same-day fumigation when boxes are received prior to 14:00 with all others being fumigated soon after.
On a further positive note all other Depot services are now up to date.
Seals Intact BMSB
A reminder that boxes with a Seals Intact direction will take a couple of days to process. Under these directions the box first has to be BMSB fumigated and only after ICS clearance has been issued can the DAWR officer be present to inspect. Thus please be patient we always work as expediently as we can.
2018-2019 BMSB Season
On a personal note, I wish to publicly thank all my team including back of house and yard team for their unwavering support and efforts they put into this BMSB season (not yet finished), whilst continuing to deal with our traditional workloads. The unprecedented volumes of the 2018-2019 BMSB season placed tremendous pressures on the industry as a whole and P&S went to considerable length to ensure we could meet these industry demands. As we aimed to ensure we did not turn any BMSB fumigation trucks away, in the space of a few weeks we opened two new depots with container forks and setup offices, hired or spread existing staff to man them and operated 7 days and nights per week to keep up with volumes. Essentially our key personnel were on changing shifts 7 days a week since the 1st of September 2018 to man the three depots. Despite these rigours, we worked closely with the department to meet the additional necessary objectivities of departmental BMSB fumigation. This note of thanks is also for all the DAWR officers who were similarly placed under tremendous pressure and who often worked long hours to ensure that we could contain the BMSB threat.
The P&S team together with these DAWR officers have gone well beyond what I would have expected them to do and for their efforts I hereby publicly thank each and every one of them.
