VISA opens Lyndhurst intermodal facility

VISA Global Logistics is pleased to announce that our intermodal facility in Lyndhurst is now open and fully operational. The largest of its kind in Victoria, VISA has been working on the strategy behind this new facility for 2 years.

This state-of-the-art facility features 6,000sqm of warehouse space, 8,000 pallet spaces, 1,200 TEU hardstand container yard and an annual capacity to process 70,000 TEUs. The new warehouse offers high-density VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) storage solutions to maximise space, reduce damage and improve accuracy. The warehouse also features a bonded licence, 24/7 operations and security as well as reefer, fumigation and quarantine services.

"This new warehouse is part of our growth strategy. We are enhancing our footprint in Melbourne's East so that we can offer a better service to our customers," Tony Baxter, VISA's National Warehouse Manager said, "We know that speed to market is so important to our customers, the location of this facility allows VISA to avoid the worst of Melbourne CBD's traffic and facilitate improved customer deliveries. The Lyndhurst facility allows us to offer a wharf-to-warehouse-to-customer service."

The warehouse is also close to rail head services in the east offering a true multi-modal experience. "We took one of the first sites in the area because we know it will become an industrial hub and will be central to serving Melbourne's needs."
