At Wednesday's Department of Agriculture Cargo Consultative Committee (DCCC) meeting, the department undertook to provide a country-by-country break down of the offshore treatment provider list, and a link to the webpage with templates and guidance materials for treatment providers. Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers Scheme Below is the current break-down of approvals by country. We have also provided a break-down of numbers of providers by treatment type in each country. Please note that the sum of the treatment types does not equal the total approved providers. This is because many treatment providers are approved for multiple treatment types.Country | Total Approved Providers | Approved Providers by Treatment Type | Heat | Sulfuryl Fluoride | Methyl Bromide | Belgium | 6 | 4 | 4 | | France | 6 | 6 | 3 | | Germany | 15 | 13 | 5 | | Italy | 16 | 13 | 6 | | Netherlands | 4 | 3 | 2 | | Russia | 4 | 4 | | | USA | 47 | 10 | 31 | 35 | Greece | 2 | 2 | | | Singapore | 10 | | | 10 | UK | 1 | | 1 | | Spain | 1 | 1 | | | Canada | 1 | | | 1 | Czech Republic | 2 | 2 | | | Romania | 1 | 1 | | | Grand Total | 116 | 59 | 52 | 46 |
In addition to the approved applications, there are currently 46 applications in progress. Of these, nine are with the department for assessment with the remaining requiring further information. Update on notice to onshore treatment providers At the teleconference, the department advised that they anticipated being in a position to issue an IAN on treatment temperature requirements for onshore BMSB requirements by the end of this week. The department has advised that they will require a little more time to ensure that they capture input from all relevant parts of the department. We understand that an IAN to be issued early next week. |
