MANDATORY ABF CPD MODULE
FTA has received confirmation from the Australian Border Force that the Mandatory ABF Module for the customs broker licensing period ending 31 March 2026 will be scheduled in
January 2026 and will need to be completed by 31 March 2026.
The Department will publish an ACN closer to the date with further details.
MANDATORY CBC ACTIVITY
Industry will be advised when the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry (DAFF) has scheduled the Mandatory CBC Activity for the period ending 31 March 2026.
FTA will advise further details to our members as soon as they have been published.
2025-2026 FTA ONLINE CPD & CBC TRAINING PACKAGES
FTA offers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Continued Biosecurity Competency (CBC) training
online
for the customs broker licencing period 1 April to 31 March each year. The cost of an online training package is $150 (excl. gst) for member organisations with bulk discounts available on a sliding scale. New content is now ready for your completion.
Licensed customs brokers
not
employed by a corporate FTA member, can purchase an Individual Membership which includes online CPD & CBC training for the cost of only $300 (excl. gst) per customs broker licensing period.
Employees of members who
do not require CPD points or a formal certificate/attainment statement

· Practical suggestions for strengthening the agreement to deliver improved outcomes.

Women in Logistics - WA LUNCH
WOMEN working in logistics often lack a dedicated space to connect and share experiences, so a group of West Australian women have taken to organising a '
no agenda
' ladies' lunch.
The inaugural lunch was held last year at the Windsor Hotel in South Perth where 45 ladies took part. This year's Women in Logistics Luncheon is being held at the Windsor Hotel on Friday, 7 November from noon. Cost is $80 per ticket - purchase tickets by emailing

Top marks for Port of Newcastle in global sustainability rating
Port of Newcastle has reaffirmed its position as a global leader in sustainability, scoring 100 per cent in the coveted Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), while maintaining its 5-star rating for a fifth consecutive year.
The Port was also ranked first in the world for its management score, which recognises PON's mature approach to governance and how it manages Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks and opportunities. Port of Newcastle CEO, Craig Carmody said the result was a phenomenal achievement.

Melbourne stays sustainability leader
PORT of Melbourne has again been named a Sector Leader, maintaining its rating as a leading Australian and international port in the 2025 Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) Infrastructure Asset Assessment.
This year, Melbourne has ranked equal first Australian port, following two years as the sole number one. The port maintained its 5-star GRESB rating, and again scored the maximum possible 100 points, following GRESB's independent review of PoM's policies, risk management, and key metrics across over 50 environmental, social, and governance focus areas.

Perth Airport has laid out its vision for the future of aviation including a multi-billion dollar investment in new infrastructure, cementing its position as one of the most important assets in Western Australia.
Perth Airport CEO Jason Waters says the Master Plan 2026 details the airport's enormous potential for Western Australia with a forecast 30 million passengers per year by 2046.
"Perth Airport is already a major generator of jobs and economic growth in Western Australia," Mr Waters said.

Anti-Dumping Commission - Statement of Expectations Updated
Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has been advised by the Anti Dumping Commissioner that the Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science, Senator the Hon Tim Ayres, has written to him with his Statement of Expectations (SoE) for the Anti-Dumping Commission. You can find a copy of the Minister's Statement of Expectations

The Anti-Dumping Commissioner has advised he welcomes the direction provided by the Minister to build on, and strengthen, the work of the Anti-Dumping Commission. Once an official response is provided it will be shared to ITRF members and published on the Commission's website.
