CONTINUED BIOSECURITY COMPETENCY (CBC)

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) has issued Industry Advice Notice 122/2023 with key dates and information for the 2023-24 CBC.

The CBC pre-recorded webinar will be made available on the department's Learnhub platform from Wednesday 6 September 2023 and must be completed by Wednesday 18 October 2023.

Please NOTE it is essential that you log in and set up your Learnhub account prior the session goes live and  complete the topic "Introduction to Learnhub" before September's scheduled activity.

 


MANDATORY CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) MODULE

The Australian Border Force (ABF) have advised under the updated Australian Customs Notice No. 2023/23 that the mandatory CPD module is now available for completion.

ALL licensed customs brokers must complete this mandatory module by 31 March 2024

Please NOTE it is ONLY available via the ABF Australian Trusted Trader (ATT) training portal - read more.

By registering for one of the above events you will receive a minimum of 21 customs broker Continuing Professional Developments (CPD) points issued on an attendance basis for the customs broker licensing period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 and complimentary online CPD and CBC access to meet your licensing and approved arrangement requirements for the period.

International Shipping Practices - Have Your Say

As a part of the FTA / APSA bi-lateral engagement with the ACCC, advice was received yesterday (15 August 2023) that the ACCC will commence industry consultation in preparation for the 2022-23 Container stevedoring monitoring report.

As part of this work, the ACCC has compiled survey documents, targeting different levels of the supply chain, to seek the views of key industry participants. READ MORE

Rohlig - 50 years in Australia



Paul Zalai recently caught up with Thomas Regin Hansen (centre) and Mat Vermeulen (far right) from Röhlig Logistics at their Moorebank (Sydney) facility. It was a tremendous opportunity to explore milestones achieved during their last 50 years of operations in Australia. An interview piece will be in the upcoming edition of Across Borders.

Validity of Standard Import Permits Increased

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has increased the length of validity for most standard permits granted by Biosecurity Animal Division. This includes standard permits for laboratory materials of animal origin, animal-based foods for human consumption and foods for animals. READ MORE
