The Federal Budget will be released 9 May 2023 with an anticipated adjustment to cost recovery charges including an increase of $5 per Full Import Declaration (FID) for both air and sea.

In a formal submission to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) questioned whether what has been proposed will make a tangible difference to frontline services and whether this will translate to much needed improvements in document assessment and inspection times.
