Container Detention

So what is the primary purpose of container detention fees … to ensure the timely return of equipment or a valuable revenue stream for shipping lines in a tough and competitive market?

Shipping lines generally offer between 7 and 10 days free of container detention fees … and yes you guessed it, many still include week-ends and public holidays potentially collecting a nice windfall over the recent Easter and ANZAC Day period ... read more and share your views on my weekly Lloyds List Newswire blog.

If you have experienced any issues, please let us know as we are following up direct with shipping lines on behalf of FTA subscribers.
