NSW Freight Community System Strategic Business Case

Tuesday, December 21, 2021

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) has received the below update from Transport for NSW

Dear stakeholder

As 2021 draws to a close, we would like to provide you with an update on the development of the Strategic Business Case for a NSW Freight Community System.

Thank you to those who provided feedback during the July to September 2021 consultation period. We consulted with a broad range of stakeholders during this time via two webinars and 22 interviews with participants in the supply chain, as well as briefings with state and federal government departments.  The feedback and submissions received have helped shape the Strategic Business case for a Freight Community System in NSW.

The next step is to review and evaluate the Strategic Business Case and carry out the assurance process in accordance with NSW Government guidelines and the NSW Gateway Policy that mandates independent peer reviews at critical decision points in a project's life cycle. This assurance process is used to assess risks associated with investing in major programs and projects to ensure that they deliver benefits for our customers and stakeholders, and public value to the tax payer. Once this process is complete, it will determine the next steps for this project.

There will be further opportunities for stakeholders to be engaged in the project. We will keep industry informed as the project progresses.

If you would like more information, please visit the project webpage or if you wish to speak to the project team please email freight@transport.nsw.gov.au.

Kind regards,

Freight Branch | Transport for NSW
