The Tasmanian Logistics Committee, in conjunction with RDA Tasmania and the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry have released a second Case Study report

This report recognises the challenges for Tasmanian businesses, who rely on non Australian input product as part of their value add process, to import these products at a comparable price to their mainland counterparts. A series of case studies have been provided by a number of leading Tasmanian export businesses to better illustrate these challenges.
As highlighted in the report:

"Extending the southbound TFES to imported goods which have no Australian-made alternatives, and serve as inputs into the value-added chain for Tasmanian industry sectors, will directly drive profitability, investment and increased employment opportunities similar to the results achieved with the extension of the northbound scheme".

The Tasmanian Logistics Committee welcomes the annoucement by Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister Hon.
