Port joins Open House Melbourne

Join us for a closer look at the Port of Melbourne – Saturday 28 July

The Port of Melbourne is gearing up again for another fantastic day of boat tours for Open House Melbourne 2018 on Saturday 28 July. Port boat tours are fun, family-friendly events. They are the best way to see Australia's busiest port, right on the city's doorstep.

Featuring a guided commentary from port staff, boat tours will be running every hour, between 10 am and 3 pm.

Like most Open House events, we won't be taking advance bookings for these tours. Make sure you arrive early (at least 20 minutes before departure) to try and beat the queues. Once on board we'll show Australia's busiest and largest container and general cargo port like you've never seen it before.

Visit Open House Melbourne for all the details.

Unlocking value across the container logistics supply chain

Transport inefficiencies that start at the terminal gate have a flow-on effect right across the container logistics supply chain, trapping value and depressing profitability for all involved.

But it doesn't have to be this way.

Connecting the community of container depots and terminals, cargo owners, shipping lines, and road transporters, Containerchain solutions support synchronised communication and operational predictability.

Features include real-time paperless tracking, frictionless information exchange, process automation, and optimised asset utilisation - as well as total container movement visibility for more proactive planning. The result is lowered cost of operations and improved profitability for one of the world's most essential industries.

Global Finance Report

Weekly Market Commentary

Global Currency wars erupted to close out a week dominated by trade wars. Trump broke protocol and directly criticised the Federal a Reserves monetary policy, meanwhile exposing China and the EU, for currency manipulation. In a wide ranging interview Trump criticised the Feds policy of raising interest rates, adding to the cost of capital, while bolstering the Big Dollar. Trump has asserted that the Chinese have been surreptitiously devaluing their currency to boost their already substantial trade advantage, as does the ECB, leading to a new front to the economic war. There is no such thing as boring in the world according to Trump! ... read more
