FTA members would be well that after extensive industry advocacy and Australian government intervention, the deadline for the airfreight screening requirements to the US was postponed from a scheduled start date of 1 July 2015.

Bearing in mind the 2 year reprieve and an environment of increasing security threats, another implementation delay will not happen!

The absolute deadline is now under 12 months away and will take effect on 1 July 2017.

We have been in contact with the Australian Federation of International Forwarders (AFIF) who have shared an update from their recent Canberra meeting with the Office of Transport Security - it is well worth reading by clicking HERE.

As mentioned in the notice, FTA will be joining industry representatives at the Office of Transport Security (OTS) Cargo Working Group (CWG) meeting in Sydney on 11 August 2016.
