Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) would like to inform members of significant traffic disruptions currently affecting logistics operations due to a ongoing protests near the Land Forces 2024 defence industry expo being held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
As a result, traffic congestion is widespread, particularly impacting Lorimer Street, Port Melbourne, and nearby areas.
Recent reports suggest that the situation has intensified, with protesters tampering with trucks enroute to the terminals. Victoria Police and the Department of Transport & Planning are responding to matters.
FTA/APSA members are encouraged to liaise with their transport providers to assess impacts to their operations.
