As a licensed customs broker you would be aware that you are required to complete a total of 30 CPD points within a customs broker licensing period from 1 April to 31 March annually to maintain your customs broker licence. This can include a maximum of 12 CPD points in Stream B and unlimited in Stream A.
The Australian Border Force (ABF) have announced under Australian Customs Notice No. 2023/11 that they will be administering a mandatory CPD module for the new period commencing 1 April 2023.
The module will focus on customs broker due diligence requirements and assist customs brokers in identifying suspicious transactions and traders. The Mandatory ABF CPD Module will provide you with 3 CPD points in Stream B.
You will therefore need to obtain an additional 27 CPD points with a maximum of 9 in Stream B for the period 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Further information will be released by the ABF closer to the scheduled module.
