Shipping line implements 1-stop booking validation system

Monday, October 22, 2018

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) have received the following advice from Quay Shipping.

This comes as very good news, with a number of major shippers reporting regular issues with containers being PRA'd into the wrong terminal incurring significant fees in storage and re-transport. It may come as a surprise but a number of major lines still do not validate bookings upon entry to the terminal.

Well done to Darren and the team at Quay.

PRA Validation 1-Stop

19th October 2018

Dear Valued Customer

1-Stop PRA Validation – Sinotrans Container Line & Pacific Forum Line

Quay Shipping Australia (Quay) "as agents for" Sinotrans Container Line (SNL) & Pacific Forum Line (PFL) is pleased to announce the implementation of the 1-Stop PRA Validation service. The automated PRA validation system is designed to ensure that the PRA data matches export booking data captured by Quay. In the event that there is a discrepancy between data in the Quay booking and that of the PRA, the sender will receive an automated message from 1-Stop. This will prompt the user to check the booking details and either amend the PRA or arrange to amend the booking with Quay.

Information that will be validated between the Quay Booking and the PRA is as follows:

• Booking Reference Number
• Lloyds Number
• Voyage Number
• Shipping Line
• Port Of Loading
• Port Of Discharge
• Booked containers v PRA containers (you cannot PRA more containers than are
  booked)
• ISO Code
• Full/ Empty Container Indicator
• Reefer Data - Control Temperature
• Dangerous Goods - UN Number
• Dangerous Goods - Class

To avoid any delays, we urge shippers and or transport companies to ensure that PRA rejection messages are actioned as a matter of urgency.

Please contact your Quay representative for further information.
