Important update
In response to user feedback, DFAT has simplified the registration process for organisations and individuals wanting to join the Advisory Services Register for Agriculture, Inclusive Markets and Development Finance. The new process is much faster, more user friendly and requires less information from the applicant.
We appreciate that some applicants may have experiences issues with the original process, and sincerely apologise. We appreciate your patience and hope that the inconvenience will not deter you from joining the Register via the new process.
We have extended the closing date for applications to 5PM AEST on 31 August 2018. Please find an updated list of frequently asked questions attached.

Why DFAT is setting up the Register and how it will be used
Inclusive economic development and working with the private sector are central to Australia's approach to international development and its commitment to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
As part of this commitment, DFAT has an ongoing requirement for short-term technical expertise to provide advice and support its investments related to:
- building inclusive markets in developing countries – with a particular focus on agriculture and rural areas
- development financing mechanisms and impact measurement, and
- a range of other economic development issues relevant to Australia's Overseas Development Assistance.

The Register is a mechanism for DFAT to identify individuals and firms which have expertise and experience in agriculture, inclusive markets and development finance. Individuals or organisations accepted to the register will not be guaranteed work, but DFAT will be able to use the Register to identify suppliers to approach through limited tender processes for simple procurements under AUD500,000. The register does not replace any existing DFAT panel arrangements or agreements.
