The much anticipated opening date for Tyne ACFS Fremantle (Empty Depot) has been confirmed for Wednesday 7th March 2018.

The long awaited development of 5.6Ha on Fremantle Port, has been developed by privately owned Tzaneros Investments for Tenants Tyne ACFS and ACFS Port Logistics.

Specifically the empty container depot spans over 40,000sqm, and has been purpose built to maximise capacity, productivity and performance. With key features on the site including queuing lanes for 21 Road Trains marked green and red to accommodate for paperless processing (Containerchain e-Gate), a 1,000sqm wash bay, 672sqm repair bay, 900sqm of dedicated survey pad, 36 reefer points and a site capacity for 6,147 TEU of empty containers, with direct and inter-connecting access to the North Quay Rail Terminal.

The site will be operating between 6am – 10pm on Monday to Friday, and additional opening hours will be on request or as required until volumes build at the new operating facility.

Tyne ACFS Director Arthur Tzaneros states "It is now time for shipping lines and transport companies to support the new alternative provider for services relating to empty containers. The industry as a whole has been eagerly awaiting, and service to industry is at the forefront of our Management, employees, technology, equipment and investment made to deliver the most reliable and consistent service offering".

The new site will be managed by Operations Manager – David Anderson who is highly regarded in the local Perth market for service delivery, and will be focused on delivering continuous improvement for shipping lines and transport companies.

Tyne ACFS Directors Mick and Aaron Powell will have a significant presence at the newly built facility, to ensure support for David Anderson and the team of employees who have been specifically chosen to "To deliver a service offering the Tyne ACFS way". The business is clearly focusing on truck turnaround, availability of slots and delivering a point of difference.

It has been indicated that shipping line support is healthy from day 1, albeit volumes will be modest over the next few weeks whilst the effects of Chinese new-year are worked through.

This latest development and operation significantly increases the capability and productivity of the Port, whilst delivering improved economies for the state of Western Australia.
