PAUL SCURRAH

Managing Director and CEO

Paul is a distinguished leader, whose expertise and vision galvanises DP World Australia.

He has a keen understanding of the human element of performance management and works hard to make sure that his team is collaborative, cohesive and motivated. Paul has championed cultural change at DP World Australia and has helped set our company on a path towards market leadership.

Since taking the helm in 2013, Paul has successfully introduced significant cultural and workforce changes. He has also instituted an ongoing program of structural change, prioritising initiatives with a strong customer focus.

Paul brings to the role a fresh approach to business leadership and a record of success in a number of senior executive roles in the transport sector.

An inspiring vision for DP World Australia

Paul recognises that DP World Australia's current challenge is to refine the company's understanding of our core business. His rich management experience has taught him that a successful business adapts, learns and draws strength from innovation during times of change. In particular, time spent at Ansett Australia during its decline gave him special insight into the key drivers of business success.

Under Paul's direction, DP World Australia is poised to seize opportunities for growth and success in today's market.

Driven by results

Prior to his appointment at DP World Australia, Paul was Executive Vice President, Commercial and Marketing at rail freight company Aurizon. In this role, his determination to attain results met with success: he built the commercial and marketing function from the ground up, securing a number of strongly contested contracts while ensuring the business remained focused on customer needs.

In 2011 as CEO of Queensland Rail, Paul's outstanding contribution to customer service innovation was recognised by the Customer Service Institute of Australia who named him CEO of the Year (Public Sector). He was also awarded AIM QLD/NT Professional Manager of the Year in 2009.
